Weather

Variable. It was raining as we arrived at Park City. This turned to sleet and quite heavy snow at higher elevations, but not for long. For most of the day, the weather alternated between warm sun and clouds.

Conditions

Variable. At lower elevations, the snow started slushy and got worse. On many of the groomed runs, there was a light covering of new snow on top of frozen groomed slush. At the summit level there was about 4" of fresh snow on many of the runs. Conditions in Blueslip Bowl and McConkey's Bowl were excellent.

Story of the Day

Two days to go and still a good number of runs unskied, including Blueslip Bowl and several of the runs on the backside of Prospector ridge.

After a warm up run down Parley's Park, we got down to the serious business and headed across to Pioneer and two runs down Blueslip Bowl.

Conditions were pretty good, with a covering of fresh powder. Chris fell once but apart from that, the runs were great.

After our success on Blueslip Bowl, we headed up McKonkey's, which was really good earlier in the week. It was not quite so pleasant, but still in pretty good condition.

Next stop was the back side. The entry to Hoist is higher than the Summit House, so it made sense to for us to fit this in before we stopped for a break. Like all of the black runs on the back side, there were moguls, which did not cause us too much trouble.

After stopping for coffee, we did two more runs from Thaynes lift and then headed back down towards the resort center for one run from Three Kings and then lunch.

After lunch, we did five runs from King Con and the up Silverlode for the run back down to the center, finishing relatively early.
